Lurie Garden, Chicago (2020)
The Lurie Garden in Millennium Park, Chicago, designed by Piet Oudolf, was supplemented with flower bulbs in the fall of 2006.
The basic principles behind the flower bulb choices were the same as for Battery Park, namely:
- they had to be harmonious with the existing plants regarding atmosphere
- they had to be suitable for multi-years planting so that one planting would result in many consecutive years of flowering bulbs.
An update of the former plant schemes for bulbs took place in 2019. Another 60 000 spring flowering bulbs were planted, resulting in a true spring garden in the following years.
